We were engaged by our clients to redesign a new house that had been previously been granted planning permission at Milford, Co. Carlow.
The concept for this house emerged through analysis of the chosen site and its context, in combination with our clients’ requirements and desires for their new home.
The redesign proposal incorporated a more compact plan form arranged in two simple blocks separated by a single storey entrance volume. Finishing materials will in the main consist of simple knapp plaster, fiber cement paneling, timber-framed glazing systems and a pre-formed insulated metal deck roof. Its immediate context will be extensively landscaped and modelled to seamlessly integrate the proposed development with the subject site.
The building is technically designed and constructed in an environmentally conscious fashion using high-performance glazing systems, super-insulation, and alternative energy provision.
