Dermot F Geoghegan Architects have a long-standing interest in urban design and the wider social and cultural influence of architecture.
We were a founding member of the Carlow Design Forum, a not-for-profit collaboration of a number of construction professionals to examine and re-evaluate the broader urban planning of the town culminating in a set of urban masterplans for various areas within the town. Many of the proposals contained within these masterplans were subsequently adopted by the Planning Authority in their review of the Town Development Plan.
We have over the years been asked to develop large mixed-use and residential projects around the country and in each of these we have sought to achieve sustainable integrated schemes which work on a social, cultural and urban planning level.
